The Night
Remembers.

So does the suit.

For weddings, black tie, and the evenings you will talk about for years — the garment matters. A commission from L&S is built for your body, your occasion, and nothing else. Before July 1, 2026, when we retire alterations work entirely, your first custom commission carries a $500 credit.

Common Questions

Questions We Hear

Can I commission a suit specifically for my wedding?+

Absolutely. Wedding commissions are among our most requested work. We schedule to your event date and build in appropriate fitting windows. Book at least 14 weeks before your event for Full Bespoke; 10 weeks for Made-to-Measure.

Do you build black tie and white tie garments?+

Yes. Dinner jackets, smoking jackets, morning coats — all are available across our three service tiers. Our master tailors have deep experience in formal evening wear.

What is the difference between the service tiers?+

Made-to-Order adapts a standard pattern to your measurements. Made-to-Measure uses our 52-year master patterns tailored precisely to you. Full Bespoke begins with a live drape — a unique pattern created from your body. Every garment, at some point, is touched and worked on by our tailors in Manhattan.

Can my groomsmen also commission suits?+

Yes. Group commissions receive coordinated scheduling and fabric coordination. Speak with your tailor at consultation about group structure and timing.

What happens to my existing alterations?+

All alterations currently in progress will be completed. July 1, 2026 applies to new alteration intake only. If you have a pending item, it will be handled.
